Histoires de fous (2020 favorites)

During 2020, I made five Spotify playlists (totaling 512 minutes) organized by genre idiosyncratically. THIS compilation is 80 minutes of favorites distilled from those playlists (which you can explore on my Spotify profile vodem).  The songs here are an unequal selection from the five playlists, picking favorites that segue coherently. The compilation starts songs with songs from the playlist “2020 Favorite ‘Poptimist’ Songs” then moves on to “2020 Favorite Indie Rock Songs” then to “2020 Favorite Indie Pop Songs” then to “2020 Favorite Ambient and Neo-Classical Songs” and finally then “2020 Favorite (mostly) Jazz and Adjacent.”  I strongly encourage you to check out the Spotify playlists to dig deeper into a whole lot more great 2020 music.  Enjoy!

The cover art is a still taken on my phone from Satoshi Kon’s spectacular anime Paprika (from 2006).
