This is a mix of mostly electronic-oriented independent pop from 2019, with some soul and hip hop. Easily the poppiest of my 2019 mixes, while still mostly much more distinctive, risk-taking, and experimental than more mainstream fare. This is part of a series I’ve been making since 2004 featuring recent independent music. I also posted mixes of 2019 indie rock and pop (Yellowjacket), jazz and ambient (Alight), and hip hop and international sounds (Between Breaths) — those can be found on my Mixcloud page and here on this site. The cover photo is an excerpt from an early 1900s German postcard, one of my collection of German anthpomorphic root vegetable postcards from the period.
